Sharon Lorek, Vice President at NovaQuest Capital Management, has two decades of expertise in the pharmaceutical and biotech industry at a global level. She has broad operational and strategic experience across a range of therapeutic areas, stages of development, company types, and geographies. She is responsible for due diligence, structuring of investment opportunities, and post-close investment management.
Prior to joining NovaQuest, Ms. Lorek was a Global Project Leader at Chiesi Group, an international pharmaceutical company headquartered in Parma, Italy. During her tenure, she successfully led programs from development to FDA approval and launch, defined high-level strategies to maximize value for the commercial portfolio, and spearheaded a cross-functional R&D team to identify new therapeutic areas for inorganic long-term growth. Ms. Lorek also served in various project management and technical roles of increasing responsibility at Purdue Pharmaceuticals L.P., Schering-Plough Corp. (now Merk & Co.), Eon Labs Inc. (now Sandoz Inc.), and Corning Inc.
Ms. Lorek earned a BS in Chemical Engineering from North Carolina State University, and a Chiesi Corporate Maser from SDA Bocconi School of Management in Milan, Italy.
