As Vice President of NovaQuest, Jan A. de Witt, MD, is involved in the identification and negotiation of strategic partnerships with pharmaceutical companies. With more than 20 years of experience in the medical and pharmaceutical industries, he applies his knowledge of research and marketing to exploring business opportunities outside of the traditional CRO offering.

Prior to joining Quintiles in 1999, Dr. de Witt worked in a variety of posts in the Netherlands, Belgium and the UK, where he has been responsible for Pharmaceutical Product Research and Development, as well as marketing. He developed special expertise in cardiovascular research, particularly Phases II through IV, as a Medical Adviser. His career has taken him to Red Cross Hospital in The Hague, where he taught surgery and gynecology to clinical research at ICIPharma and CRO work for ClinTrials Research, setting up offices in France, Poland and Italy. At Zambon Pharmaceuticals, he successfully submitted Ibopamine (a treatment for congestive heart failure) to Dutch health authorities, then supervised its product portfolio and sales.

Dr. de Witt received his medical degree from the University of Leiden in the Netherlands and completed postgraduate training in pharmaceutical medicine at the University of Cardiff in Wales. He is fluent in Dutch, English, German and French.
